Apple helps publishers prepare for Apple News Format with new documentation

iOS 9 - Apple News app
Apple News has been available for a bit of time now, but many publishers might still be relying on the service to pull stories via an RSS feed and leave it at that.
Wanting publishers to release better stories within Apple News, to promote its dynamic range, makes sense, so it’s not surprising that Apple has recently released documentation to do exactly that. As revealed by MacRumors, Apple has released documentation to help publishers build stories for Apple News, which includes customized fonts, more dynamic photos, and animations that translate on the iPhone and iPad.
With Apple News Format, all news publishers will be able to release stories that offer the more robust layout and features, instead of simply being source-fed stories with static text and a limited amount of images. Apple has only allowed a select number of publishers to use this dynamic format, so the rollout of the documentation to prepare all publishers should be a welcomed one.
As it stands now, though, Apple News Format is still listed on Apple’s website as “coming soon,” but this would suggest a launch could be right around the corner.
